Our next result from our survey of 57 PR graduates and students reveals how social media has affected their search for work placements and internships.
52 per cent of the respondents said that they found work placements using social media tools.
Matt Alder, a social recruiting expert and founder of MetaShift says: “Most recruitment has always been done by word of mouth and referrals. Social media is proving to be such an effective way for people to find jobs because it is amplifying people’s ability to hear about job openings from the extended networks social media is providing for them.”
As social media recruiting is getting a flying start in PR, recruitment agencies and the traditional online job advertising models are being challenged.
