75 per cent of PR Graduates and students say Twitter is their favourite social media tool


In vox-popPRcareers first social media survey for PR graduates and students, there have been some fascinating results. In the coming week, vox-popPRcareers will reveal what the 57 recent graduates aspiring to work in PR and PR students thought about social media and how it affects their future careers.

75 per cent of PR graduates and students said Twitter was their favourite social media tool. Facebook came a close second with more than one third of respondents choosing it.

LinkedIn had a share of 12 per cent. The darling of the technology scene Foursquare received 7 per cent of PR graduates and students voteĀ  as their favourite social media tool.

Methodology

The social media survey was conducted using Twitter to connect with the target market:

  • 94 tweets to 94 PR students and graduates were sent using bit.ly as the analytical tool.
  • 84 clicks from the links were verified by bit.ly, highlighting a 89 per cent click-through rate.
  • 57 responses were received, showing a 60 per cent conversion rate from the tweets sent.

    Twitter is just a monster these days! 100 million subscribers so not surprised at all to see it so successful.

    PR graduates need Twitter because it has become part of the PR world.
